Andy_00004bioBorn: London, 1966. Graduated: Ravenswood School for Boys, 1982 with 9 ‘O’ Levels

Career: Various positions, working up to a senior management position in a multi-million £ building supply company. I Left in December 2005 to pursue photography as a full time career
I was mentored by RJ Carroll in New Jersey and had to study the great photographers past and present through their art in books and galleries. I tried to take on board what made them so inspiring while intent on keeping a style of my own. I believe through mentoring I learnt more than formal study could have ever taught me and I now live by the theory that to break the rules you have to know them first

We believe in an ethical and fair business approach and act with honesty and integrity both with our clients and the models we work with.

whats people are saying about Neolestat Studio:graveyard2

‘Blasphemous Material”

Andrew Young the Priest in charge  of St. Michaels Penkivel said in a statement : No permission was ever sought or given to Mr. Craddock by the Priest-in-charge or the churchwardens for these photographs.

“I am deeply shocked that Mr. Craddock could consider taking action that will cause great offense.”

“Entirely Improper”

He said,” it had cause upset  those who have connection to the church through being married at St. Michael’s or through loved ones who have been buried in the church yard .”

Jeremy Dowling ,a spokesmen for the Diocese of  Truro, which is supporting the legal action ,said the church was used without permission.

“The Church deplores the use of sacred space in this way” weather he has gone in there legally or illegally he is using the setting for an entirely improper purpose .

“By anyone’s resonable standards of decency this goes beyound the pale”

Aspiration

RV004neoIn my photography you see the models I work with as I see them. I firmly believe that ‘Post Processing’ is important to all professional photographers and that ‘Photoshop’ has now become the darkroom of the digital age. I try to limit my own ‘Post’ to the removal of obvious blemishes only. No skin smoothing, no eye whitening, no teeth straightening…

The beauty you see is the model’s own.

For most shoots I find it is enough to simply suggest to the model what she wear and how she apply her make-up on the day. Each model comes to the shoot as herself and ends up in print with as few post processing changes as possible. During the shoot I often ask the model to act emotively and from this I try to capture the personality as well as the external beauty…

I believe that acting comes from within and is an extension of the self, it removes inhibitions and frees the Id from the Ego. I often choose not to directly pose my models but suggest and let them pose themselves within a theme and shoot around them.

Whether the model poses with confidence or shyness the honesty remains and a set of beautiful and unique images is created.
